Ma's in Mendocino

Charles and I try to begin each new year with a dedicated weekend where we focus on defining our family, individual, professional and overall goals for the year.  It's a time for us to look forward and plan for what's ahead and also reflect on what we've learned and experienced.
 We chose Mendocino as our weekend spot this year because it has a very special place in our hearts.  Five years ago (Oct 2010), this is where Charles proposed to me.  We hadn't been back since so it was a beautiful place to reflect and share with Bash.  He proposed right at the top of that small island.  :)

We stayed at The Andiron again which made the weekend really nostalgic and special too.  This adorable coastal inn has 12 individually-themed cabins.  We stayed in Cabin #3 "Here" whose theme is an homage to the North Coast.  Details inside are thoughtful (ie. Mendocino bluff murals, wine barrel table and nautical kitsch) and we had a very cozy stay.  The owners are a very warm couple from Berkeley, CA and remembered us too!

It was fun to explore some coastal hikes with Bash and take him to the same beach where we got engaged.  Making new memories with him is priceless.  xoxo
